Pam Hogg AW13

Wonderfully twisted with a heart embedded in 90's club culture, Hogg's designs have never ceased to impress. Fetish inspired catsuits in PVC and leather dominated the playfully anticipated collection. Dancers from The English National Ballet acted as models, their balance and grace offering a feminine aspect to the bondage inspired clothes. Impressively the dancers walked the catwalk in ballet shoes on their tip toes whilst wearing large bulky hats on their heads. Sheer pieces exposed bodies and delicate satin clung to bodies, as the womanly silhouette shone throughout, even amongst the block stripes. Hogg's clothes challenged the limits of the body, showing two extremes; the poise, grace and delicate silhouette of the body which contrasted against the tough fetishistic nature of the fabrics and garments. Challenging the delicate silhouette in to something more, a phallic object maybe? The bulky hat and bondage block stripe pattern, restricts the ballet dancer's femininity until all she has left is her balance, grace and posture. Definitely the most memorable and important collection from London Fashion Week.
